The Church of Santa Maria di Gesù and the convent of the Reformed Friars Minor of Petralia Soprana is a monumental complex dating back to the 17th century. The convent was built in 1611, thanks to the money donated by some noblewomen and with the consent of the lord of the time Don Antonio Moncada. The building was enriched with an atrium and a church and a large adjoining field that the friars transformed into a park. The facade of the Church is noteworthy, richly adorned with bas-reliefs with floral motifs that recall the Churrigueresque style. Friar Umile Pintorno da Petralia Soprana spent his first years as a novitiate in the convent. Inside a beautiful cloister with columns.
