On the island of Rabbits, a strange and curious phenomenon occurs every 60-100 years and has a short duration.
Cyclically from the seabed suddenly emerges an ephemeral isthmus of sand that connects the island of Conigli to the island of Lampedusa, usually separated by a short stretch of sea that reaches a depth of about three meters. The latest phenomenon occurred in 2001 and lasted the entire summer.
