Some scenes of the film "Seduced and abandoned" were shot in the village of Santa Margherita di Belice.
Seduced and abandoned is a 1964 film directed by Pietro Germi and starring Stefania Sandrelli, Aldo Puglisi, Saro Urzì and Lando Buzzanca. The film is part of a trilogy that began with "Divorzio all'italiana" and ended with "Signore & Signori".
The film, set in the city of Sciacca, tells the story of Agnese, sixteen, seduced by her sister's boyfriend Matilde. The father demands a remedial wedding, but the seducer abandons her.
The film was shot mainly in the city of Sciacca but also the village of Santa Margherita di Belice was the set for some scenes. In particular, the famous Filangeri di Cutò palace is easily recognized from the emblem with the eagle, which in the film becomes the residence of Baron Rizieri, played by Leopoldo Trieste.
