In Castiglione di Sicilia, on the first Sunday of May, celebrations take place in honor of Maria Santissima Madonna della Catena, patron saint of the village. The festival, one of the most heartfelt in the entire Alcantara Valley, consists of various celebrations that take place in the first days of May, and which culminate on the day of the festival with the Solemn procession of the simulacrum, attributed to the Gagini school, which during all year round it is kept in the Basilica of the Madonna della Catena.
