Feast of San Bartolo dei Pescatori in Salina
On the island of Lipari, the celebrations in honor of San Bartolo dei Pescatori take place on 13 February. The feature that distinguishes the event is the banner pole that will be carried in procession. On the morning of the feast day, a public auction is held among the fishermen's families, the proceeds of which will be donated to the church, which sees them contending for the auction. The procession with traditional religious costumes follows. The celebrations are closed by the pyrotechnic games.
