Festival Internazionale degli Aquiloni in San Vito Lo Capo

In San Vito lo Capo, the International Kite Festival takes place every year in May. A joyful and creative day of celebration that lights up and colors the sky of San Vito Lo Capo. The review, conceived in 2009 by Ignazio Billera, is organized by the Municipality of San Vito Lo Capo in collaboration with the Feedback agency. A week of emotions upside down with free flight exhibitions, workshops dedicated to children, moments of tasting, entertainment and shows. The creations of kite flyers from all over the world will joyfully invade the sky of the town: shapes, colors, contrasts and characters will hover in the air to the amazement of adults and children. “The Kite Festival is one of the most anticipated events of the spring - said Giuseppe Peraino, mayor of San Vito Lo Capo -. Our town becomes, for a week, the stage for many cultural and entertainment activities that see the kite as the absolute protagonist, a timeless game with great charm that amuses and enchants all ages ". Every day, both for lunch and dinner, the Wind Village will offer tastings for adults and children: appetizing street food menus that will appeal to palates of all ages. Among the initiatives planned also the Wind Garden, an open-air "museum" of works of art that move with the wind and workshops dedicated to children who will be involved in games and treasure hunts to discover San Vito Lo Head. As a tradition, the program will host a special flight of kites to commemorate the massacre of Capaci on May 23, which marks the thirtieth anniversary of this year. "Since 2019, together with the municipal administration of San Vito Lo Capo - underlined Nino Ciulla, councilor for tourism of San Vito Lo Capo - we have embarked on the path of relaunching this event with great potential.
