Living Nativity Scene in Sambuca di Sicilia takes place in the Saracen Quarter of the village, the best preserved Arab plant in Sicily. The maze of narrow and winding alleys placed at the top of the town is the setting for one of the most important nativity scenes in Sicily for the number of scenes and figures. The flying buttresses and stone stairs will lead the visitor to the cave, created right next to the ancient “purrere”, the sandstone quarries that probably date back to the period of the Castle of Zabut. About 200 figures will interpret, in addition to the traditional figures of the nativity scene, metaphorical scenes that are the basis of universal values such as Peace, Love, Tolerance.
Along the way, visitors are accompanied by a guide among music, tastings of typical products and Christmas chants.
