Historical re-enactment in Monreale
In the sign of William is the historical re-enactment which takes place every year in Monreale in the month of September and which celebrates the era and culture of the Kingdom of William II.
The event includes a rich program of events: performances theaters that reflect medieval customs and traditions, presentation of books, performances by flag-wavers, stokers, drummers and archers, shows and the great procession of historical re-enactment of the events that actually happened at the sixth hour, around midday, on 15 August 1176, when William II , called the good one, donated to the Madonna the temple that he had built in her honor: the Cathedral of Monreale.
