Cavatieddi Festival in Monterosso Almo

The Sagra dei Cavatieddi of Monterosso Almo takes place every third Saturday after Easter in the splendid setting of Piazza Sant’Antonio. The festival is part of the celebrations in honor of Maria Santissima Addolorata, main patron saint of Monterosso Almo.
On the occasion of the festival, various stands are set up in Piazza San Giovanni for the tasting of "cavatieddi muntirussani", that is, pasta dumplings seasoned with sauce of pork prepared by hand by expert housewives of the village, accompanied by good local wine. Alongside the tasting of cavatieddi it will be possible to taste traditional sweets prepared according to ancient peasant recipes.
