Ancient Prison of Land of Savoca
The Ancient Prison of the Land of Savoca is located in the village of Casalvecchio. Of the original structure there are only poor remains of walls and a square window, closed with a wrought iron grate, dominated by the coat of arms of the Archimandrite, removed and kept in the local museum. A cistern that was used for the water supply of a large part of the town is still visible inside. Since 1855, when Savoca ceased to be the capital of its district, it fell into disuse. It partially collapsed in 1908 and was never rebuilt.
