Savoca City gate
The Porta della Città di Savoca , dating back to the 12th century, is a pointed arch in sandstone. The Normans surrounded the city of Savoca with a large wall with two access gates, one at the south end, in the San Giovanni district, and the other at the north end, in the San Michele district. Of these defensive fortifications, only the gate of the San Michele district is now visible.
