Caltagirone ceramics is one of the most famous handcrafted products in Sicily.
The origins of Caltagirone ceramics are very ancient, it is believed that Arab potters, starting from 827, following the Muslim conquest of the island, would have given a strong impulse to ceramic art by introducing new techniques from the East.
The distinctive feature of Caltagirone ceramics are the colors. The Caltagirone ceramics have a white background on which a color palette is used based on all the brightest shades of blue, yellow and green.
The Caltagirone ceramics are made entirely by hand according to a manufacturing process composed of multiple phases, each of which is essential to create a product with a unique and inimitable design.
