Rice crispelle and honey

Rice and honey crispelle, also known as Catania crispelle or zeppole, are a typical dessert of the feast of San Giuseppe but which today can be enjoyed every day of the year. These are tasty orange-flavoured rice pancakes with a cylindrical shape, dipped in honey and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
They were conceived by the nuns of the Benedictine Monastery of Catania in the 16th century, and are in fact also known as Benedictine rice crisps or Benedictine.
Don't confuse rice crispelle and honey with the classic rice crispelle or donuts.
