Linosa lentil is a legume grown in the fertile volcanic lands of the Linosa island. Linosa lentils are small, dark and very rich in flavor. The rich volcanic soil and the particularly stable microclimate throughout the year gives the products a unique flavor.
They are still grown today using rudimentary tools and techniques but the hard work of the farmers replaces the herbicides and pesticides that are normally used in modern agriculture.
