The Church of Maria Santissima del Rosario in Castrofilippo, the Mother Church of the village, is a valuable building of seventeenth-century origin.
It was built in 1634 at the behest of the Duke of Castrofilippo Maurizio Monreale. The original structure was smaller than the current one, as the choir and the two side chapels were added only in 1848.
The simple façade, between two brick pilasters, is crowned by an elegant pediment. Behind the building stands the monumental bell tower built in 1944.
The interior, in the shape of a Latin cross, is decorated with valuable stuccoes and Corinthian capitals.
Inside the church there are valuable statues and paintings on canvas dating back to the beginning of the last century by Salvatore Racalbuto: Adam and Eve, the Madonna of the Rosary, Judith, the Transfiguration, the Souls of Purgatory, the Madonna of the Assumption.
