Mermaid and Aeolian islands
The myth of the sirens, which with their hypnotic song were dangerous for sailors, intertwines the places of the Aeolian islands.
According to mythology, the rocks of the island of Ustica were populated by a group of sirens. It is said that the song of these sirens guided the souls of the dead to the afterlife right through the Aeolian Islands, in order to let them admire, one last time, the splendor of nature.
