Bisacquino, over the centuries, was subject to various foreign dominations. For this reason the origin of the name is controversial.
According to a first hypothesis, the name Bisacquino could derive from the Latin bis-acqua, which means abundant in water, to indicate the abundance of springs in the place.
According to another interpretation, the term Bisacquino could derive from the Arabic busukin, i.e. father of the knife, to highlight the production shop of knives made with goat horns.
