Origin of the name "Ramacca"

The name "Ramacca" was born from the union of two terms in the Sicilian dialect.
In fact, the toponym derives from the words ranni, which means large, and macchia which indicates an area covered with woods. In fact, the territory in which Ramacca stands was originally a large area covered with woods, a Great Maquis.
