Civic Museum in Militello in Val di Catania
The Sebastiano Guzzone Museum-Art Gallery in Militello in Val di Catania is located in the buildings of the ancient convent of San Domenico. The Museum-Art Gallery is located on the upper floor while on the ground floor there is the Biblioteca popolare Angelo Maiorana.
The Museum houses a valuable collection of ancient goods. Of particular value are: the collection of pottery from Magna Graecia; the collection of proclamations dating from the seventeenth century to the Anglo-American occupation; valuable collections of nineteenth and twentieth century paintings, including a Sciuti and an eighteenth-century canvas by Francois Boucher entitled The Two Children; several works by local masters such as Sebastiano Guzzone, Giuseppe Barone and Santo Marino.
Of considerable value is the original high relief of the fountain of the Nymph Zizza.
