Feast of the castellan in Caccamo

The castle festival in Caccamo is a great event that takes place every year in August and which recalls the entry into the city of the Lord of Caccamo and his noble wife.
A procession takes place on the occasion of the re-enactment historian of the Lord of Caccamo who, together with his noble Consort, is taken over by the nobles of Caccamo and neighboring countries, and accompanied up to the Castle. Numerous figures in period costume take part in the long historical procession: ladies, knights, flag-wavers and the Castellana, the last lady of the procession who is symbolically given the keys to the city.
As part of the event, there is also the election of the Castellana di Caccamo and the two Madams of Honor at the medieval Castle and a great trade fair.
