Feast of Maria SS del Soccorso in Castellammare

In Castellammare del Golfo the celebrations in honor of the Patron Saint Maria SS. Del Soccorso are held on 19, 20 and 21 August each year.
On the occasion of the celebrations, the traditional historical re-enactment of Nostra Principalissima Patrona takes place, which recalls the events of 13 July 1718 when the vision of the Madonna frightens the English away from Castellammare.
On the first day of the festivities, day 19, the evocative Sea Procession takes place accompanied by countless boats, at the Cala Marina. In the background banners of fire, pyrotechnic fountains, fixed fires and pyrotechnic spheres.
Day 21 the Earth Procession takes place, which starts from the Mother Church and winds through the main roads of the country. Throughout the Procession, the faithful sing the Rosary dedicated to the Madonna in dialect. The event ends at the Mother Church with the procession of all the participants.
