Feast of the Patriarch St. Joseph in Mascalucia

Every year in Mascalucia, on March 19, the Feast of the Patriarch St. Joseph takes place, venerated in the Parish of Santa Maria della Consolazione.
On March 18, the eve of the Solemnity, the lighting of the artistic lights takes place.
Il 19 March, the day of the festival, in the afternoon the solemn "Cavalcata di San Giuseppe" takes place, a traditional parade of Sicilian horses and carts with the characteristic representation of the Holy Family. In the evening, during the fercolo procession, the characteristic "Calata dell'Angelo"(descent of the angel).
