The Feast of the SS. Salvatore in Militello in Val di Catania takes place on August 18 and includes a long period of celebrations full of moments of faith and ancient traditions.
The celebrations traditionally begin on August 8, the day on which the Cantata and the procession of the nineteenth-century painting depicting the face of Christ the Savior take place.

On the 17th, the eve of the feast, the traditional ceremony of the delivery of the keys by the mayor to the Patron Saint and the opening of the artistic bronze doors of the chapel of the SS. Salvatore, unlocked by means of the three historic silver keys.
On the day of the feast, August 18, the solemn Pontifical takes place and, in the afternoon, the exit of the fercolo from the Mother Church, the evocative entrustment to the Patron of the children of the City, dressed in the traditional red devotional dress, and the consequent triumphal climb towards Mount Calvary, the symbolic place of His death and resurrection.
