Ionian Fair in Acireale

The Ionian Fair in Acireale takes place every year in September and is one of the oldest and most important fairs in Sicily.
The Ionian fair aims to promote new ideas and articles, with particular attention to the importance of Sicilian craftsmanship. Great attention is also given to gastronomic and culinary traditions as well as to typical local products.
The first edition of the fair dates back to 1932, and was born to commemorate the ancient Franca Fair of Santa Venera, granted with privilege in 1422 by Alfonso the Magnanimous , during which the products of Etna are bartered.
The stands of the Ionian fair will be set up in the prestigious historic center of Acese.
