The Artichoke Festival in Niscemi celebrates the purple artichoke, a tasty variety of artichoke that has given Niscemi the title of Artichoke Capital city.
The particular climate, the The type of soil and its fertility have made the production of the violet artichoke in Niscemi luxuriant and of extremely high quality.
On the occasion of the gastronomic event there are many show cooking and tasting stands for the violet artichoke of Niscemi. Alongside the artichoke tasting stands, numerous stands are set up with typical local products and local handicrafts.
Numerous music, fashion, folklore and entertainment events enrich the event.
