The tradition of Sicilian Ceramics has its roots in the distant past: its appearance dates back to the sixth millennium BC. and it is present in all the indigenous centers of the island. The arrival of the Arabs in Sicily gave a strong impetus to the art of ceramics thanks to the introduction of glazing, a technique coming from the East which consisted of a mixture of substances sprinkled on the ceramic body that vitrifies during the firing phase, allowing the containers to be waterproofed. . In various centers of Sicily the tradition of ceramics is contained in the experience handed down by the artisans, the entire production process is entirely handmade and the quality of the finished work is very high.
