Mouth of the Platani River Nature Reserve
The Mouth of the Platani River Oriented Nature Reserve is located in the territory of Ribera and Cattolica Eraclea, and protects the particular coastal ecosystem and numerous species of birds such as the gray heron, the herring gull, the purple heron and the marsh harrier.< br>Within the reserve there is the typical and suggestive dune vegetation, there are Eucalyptus, Acacias, Pines and spontaneous shrub species and, naturally, a conspicuous Mediterranean vegetation.
Within the reserve there is a marvelous Capo Bianco cliff, a large white rock overlooking the sea, and on the plateau above, the remains of the ancient Greek theatre.
