Laudani houses in Pedara

Case Laudani in Pedara constitute a complex of civilian homes that dominates the north side of Corso Ara di Giove.
In 1839 the municipality of Pedara received a large bequest of land from Baron Domenico Papardo. It was the baron's intention to make it possible to build a connecting road to Nicolosi and several houses for residential use on his land. Thus the land was used for the construction of the road, the current Corso Ara di Giove, but the rest fell into the hands of a rich and influential family, the Laudani family, who used it to build the residences of some relatives.
The architectural complex develops in a regular manner following the course of the road. The façade, which remained incomplete for a long time, was completed only recently. Behind it there was a large vineyard, of which no trace remains today. Only the cistern, one of the most important in the country, has survived to this day.
