There are many anecdotes related to the Norman castle of Acicastello that tell of ghosts.
These are episodes that tell of strange evanescent figures and otherworldly presences who dwell in the dungeons overlooking the sea. Among the most recent statements are the former castle keeper who seems to have glimpsed the ghosts of some ancient warriors in the rooms. There are also the testimonies of two municipal employees who remained at the Rocca until late and would have heard atrocious complaints and a screeching of chains following which they fled in terror.
