The sad story told in the legend of the Lady of the Castle takes place within the walls of the Norman Castle of Aci Castello.
It is said that a young lady, who came to court following her father's debt, refused to accept the slimy advances of the governor. The lady, chased and forced to the edge of one of the terraces of the castle, let herself fall, in order not to give in to the man. His body was never found on the platform below and disappeared into thin air. It is said that on full moon nights it is still possible to hear the screams of the lady echoing within the castle walls.
