Places of "Anna" - Gibellina
Gibellina, Salemi and Santa Ninfa are the locations of “Anna”, a Sky Original TV series based on the novel of the same name.
The series, directed by Niccolò Ammaniti, author of the homonymous set in a destroyed Sicily, sees the thirteen-year-old protagonist having to save herself from a virus that has exterminated almost all the inhabitants. In order to survive, the young woman will follow all the instructions that her mother left her in the Book of Important Things, she leaves the Podere del Gelso and embarks on an adventurous journey among the remains of the world.
In fact, among Anna's locations we find the Pylon of Torre Faro, pylon that stands out on the Messina side of the Strait, the Church of San Vito a Mare in Mazara del Vallo, the streets and alleys of Gibellina.
In the shots taken in Gibellina, the streets of the new Gibellina rebuilt after the earthquake of the 1968, are streets on the outskirts of the new town because in the center there are the identifying signs of Gibellina, streets with great perspective have been chosen, where there is nothing of identity to recreate an apocalyptic scenario.
