The name "Brolo" probably originates from the Latin term "brolium", which means garden.
The territory of Brolo was, and still is in part, surrounded by a vast plain of gardens that slopes down to the sea. In the Renaissance period the "Brolo" in fact indicated a garden, which surrounded the noble residences, essentially made up of flowers and fruit trees where the beauty of the colors and scents was combined with the practical side of the production of fruit for the table.
