Fornazzo is a small village located in the Milo area, whose name seems to be linked to Mount Etna.
According to popular tradition, the village of Fornazzo was founded by a man who decided to build his house next to a large lava cave. It is said that anyone who looked at the entrance to this cave compared it to a large oven: a fornazzo. Thus it was that the village of Fornazzo was born in the place where that large lava cave opened.
