It is said that a woman, called Carmela a Raddusana, who lived near Piazza Marconi, not far from Torretta Belvedere, every Saturday, from 10.00pm to 12.00am, held séances in order to understand in which cave in the San Leonardo district the famous treasure was hidden. He convinced people that to know the exact location it was necessary to sacrifice a three-year-old child. A punitive expedition then set off to prevent the woman's words from having terrible consequences. So it was that on the following full moon night, some young people met on the Belvedere tower, filled baskets with large stones and set off towards the woman's house. As soon as the bells struck midnight the young men began throwing their stones at the house. The woman read this event as a bad omen and never held séances again.
