The Canadian Cemetery of Agira is an important testimony of the Second World War.
In September 1943 the location of Agira is chosen by Canadian officials to bury all the Canadian soldiers who died in Sicily sacrificed for freedom.
The Canadian War Cemetery is nestled on a hill in a beautiful location and is the only one in Italy where only Canadians are buried. In this place are buried the remains of about 490 young Canadians (13 members of the Royal Canadian Air Force and 477 of the army), who in July 1943 lost their lives during the fighting to free Sicily from Nazi-fascism during the last war. world.
