Feast of the Madonna del Carmelo in Sutera

The Feast of the Madonna del Carmelo in Sutera, Santa Mistress of the village, traditionally takes place in the month of July and is a very important event for the locals.
In the days preceding the main feast there is a busy religious program in preparation for the liturgical celebration and the Carmeliads, i.e. games with a religious theme that involve all age groups and in which the entire population takes part.
Among the most significant moments of the celebrations there is the so-called Blessing of the Children: the children born during the year, after receiving baptism, are blessed at the first master's party, receive a scapular as a gift and become part of the Confraternity of the Madonna del Carmelo.
The solemn procession of the Simulacrum of the Madonna del Carmelo takes place on the feast day, which ends with the act of entrustment of the faithful to the Holy Mistress.
