Feast of S. Luca, S. Rocco and S. Sebastiano in Motta D'Affermo

The Feast of the Protector Saint San Rocco in Motta D'Affermo is the main religious festival for the village.
The celebrations open on 7 August with the start of the traditional Novena, recited every evening in the church of San Rocco until day 15. The culmination of the celebration is August 16, the day that the Catholic church dedicated to the famous medieval pilgrim saint of French origin. On this day many events are concentrated in Motta, including the Holy Mass of the Pilgrim, the procession of Miracles, the Historical Cavalcade and the great evening procession with the majestic Vara del Santo. Traditionally the day ends with a show and the inevitable fireworks.
During the festive days, various initiatives and collateral activities are organised.
Along with the feast of San Rocco, the summer festivals of San Luca, the patron saint of the village, and the festival of San Sebastiano.
