Feast of Santa Margherita in Licodia Eubea

The Festa Santa Margherita in Licodia Eubea, patronal feast for the village, takes place on 20 July, in memory of the martyrdom of the Saint.
During the entire month of July there is a busy religious program whose main moments are: the first exhibition of the Relic, the skullcap of the Saint, and the pilgrimage of the Pidata of Contrada Masera, the place where a votive aedicule dedicated to Santa Margherita stands, to which a legend.
The festivities culminate on the feast day with the solemn procession of the relic and the sixteenth-century Simulacrum of Santa Margherita. During the procession, it is traditional to offer animals, plants and fruit to the Saint as thanks for the year's harvest.
During the celebrations, folkloristic, musical and entertainment shows are also organised.
