Feast of the Holy Crucifix in Montemaggiore Belsito
The Feast of the Holy Crucifix in Montemaggiore Belsito is celebrated every year on May 3 and in September.
The May 3 feast includes an intense liturgical program and the traditional and solemn procession of the simulacrum of the Holy Crucifix.< br>The valuable simulacrum carried in procession dates back to the end of the 15th century and it is said to have been found in 1625 by Don Cangelosi under a bush that grew on the ruins of a Benedictine monastery which burned without being consumed.
