Holy Week in Aragon includes evocative rites full of great faith and spirituality.
The rites begin on Palm Sunday with the traditional rite of blessing the palms.
On Good Friday the evocative nocturnal procession takes place during which the faithful sing in chorus the notes of the symphonic song Vere Filius.
The rites are very evocative of Easter Sunday: the traditional Meeting takes place in the main square of the village during which the Simulacrum of the Risen Christ is revealed to the simulacrum of the Madonna and the giant puppets of Saints Peter and Paul. These are ancient puppets of Spanish origin that are carried on the shoulders and animated by a bearer.
