Azzurro Arch in Bagheria

The Arco Azzurro is located on the promontory of Capo Mongerbino , a seaside hamlet of Bagheria.
Its particular shape and location makes the Arco Azzurro one of the most suggestive of the Sicilian coast. It is a natural footbridge of dolomitic rock located at an altitude of 11 meters above sea level that connects the two banks of a small and pretty fjord.
The site in December 2012 was recognized as a Geosite of national interest for the its particular scientific and cultural relevance.
The arch was the set of an advertising spot by Baci Perugina, for this reason it is also known as Arco dei baci or Arco degli amorati.
