Palace of Culture in Modica

The Palace of Culture in Modica is the former Monastery of the Benedictine Sisters , in operation during the seventeenth century until 1860, when it was requisitioned by the royal government. In the past it was the seat of the City Court and of the Assize Court.
During the restoration work, a stone confessional came to light which was encased in the masonry covered with plaster.
The building houses the Archaeological Museum of Modica .
