Piazza Don Antonino Saitta - Cassibile(SR)

The Monument to the Fallen of Cassibile, placed in front of the church of San Giuseppe, was sculpted by the Syracusan sculptor Antonio Leone in 1993 and has the task of commemorating the Cassibilesi fallen during the Second World War and at the same time remembering the armistice whose signature took place precisely in the town of Cassibile.
The monumetno has a structure in white stone and has three panels: the central one with a bas-relief depicting an allegory of freedom; the lateral ones are instead two commemorative plaques, one of which depicts the original plaque in English placed by Anglo-American soldiers in Contrada San Michele.
