Pyramid of Etna in Castiglione di Sicilia
The Pyramid of Etna in Castiglione di Sicilia is located in the hamlet of Passopisciaro and for this reason it is also known as the Pyramid of Passopisciaro.
It is one of approximately forty pyramids present in the Etna area whose origins and functions are still the subject of dispute among scientists today.
The Passopisciaro pyramid is a stepped construction with a rectangular base made of lava stone with the same technique as dry stone walls.
