Postoleon gallery in Mongiuffi Melia

The Postoleone Tunnel is a tunnel with a great scenic impact that connects Letojanni to the villages of Melia and Mongiuffi.
Its particular appearance is linked to the fact that it was excavated manually with rudimentary tools. About 300 Austrian soldiers built the tunnel, who despite having been captured by the Austro-Habsburg regime and exploited for this project, it is said that they worked willingly on this project because in a short time they established excellent relationships with the locals. In fact, many anecdotes are told about the construction of this tunnel.
Due to its origin, the tunnel assumes characteristics very similar to those of tunnels excavated in the Alps.
