Valley Gate in Segesta
The Gate of the Valley of the Archaeological Park of Segesta was a natural access to the ancient city.
It was built at the end of the 6th century and is part of the lower defensive walls.
The Gate, established in a valley, it was protected by two towers and other rooms used to house war machinery, as evidenced by the presence of a warehouse where 120 balls per catapult were found.
