The Palazzo Ducale di Gela is located in the Calvary area. Today it is used as a congress or exhibition hall. In the area of the courtyard of the former granaries of the Doge's Palace, in 1991, during the excavation work for the construction of a public parking lot, substantial vestiges of ancient structures dating back to different eras emerged; archaeologists have discovered a series of finds of considerable interest attributable to the medieval, archaic and classical period.
