Saracen Tower in Gangi
The Torre Saracena di Gangi, which stands at the foot of Mount Marone, is a cylindrical tower called Saracena exclusively because of its shape. It is in fact a medieval control tower of the territory.
The tower has an opening with a pointed arch to the north which represents the only access to the tower: access was via a ladder, to guarantee the occupants. The defense function is testified by the presence of battlements and housings of the wooden beams that support the roof slab.
