Botanical Garden in Messina

The Messina Botanical Garden was established in 1638 by Pietro Castelli. The garden is owned by the University of Messina. It was demolished in 1678 following the anti-Spanish revolt, and then rebuilt only in 1889. Today the botanical garden houses various tree species from all over the world.
