Church of Maria SS. Annunziata in Corleone

The Church of Maria SS. Annunziata in Corleone today is entirely incorporated into the complex of the Ospedale dei Bianchi.
The date of construction of the church is not known but there is written information of its existence as early as 1388. In the seventeenth century it was entirely rebuilt and transformed into oratory of the Company of the SS. Name of Jesus. In 1768 it was moved slightly following a re-adaptation of the hospital premises.
Externally the church is not visible because it is entirely incorporated into the hospital structure. The entrance door has the same pointed arch as the Bianchi oratory which is part of the hospital structure.
The single nave interior still retains the stucco, marble and original majolica floor. The statue of the Risen Christ is placed on the altar. The Church is opened today on Good Friday and inside the rite of the dressing of the brothers and the passage of the Risen Christ towards the Mother Church takes place.
